What in earlier times was a very thinly populated Upper Austrian granite highland has been, for hundreds of years, an important part of an intensively used transport connection to South Bohemia and further on up to the commercial capital and university city of Prague and beyond. In particular, salt from the Salzkammergut was a sought-after and valued product in the central region north of the Danube.
The fascination of its wild and romantic barrenness may be seen as a special feature in the modestly decorated series “Mühlviertel”, which, among other things, can be combined very well with the single-coloured “Salzkammergut”Ceramic Plate.
