WEISSENSEE
At 930 metres above sea level the Weissensee is the highest lake in Carinthia and in winter is covered with a sheet of ice up to 60cm thick creating the largest ice-skating rink in the Alps. The ceramic series named after it from Gollhammer documents one of the oldest and, simultaneously, most traditional decorations in the history of Austrian ceramics culture. Despite this, or for this very reason, because of this authentically archaic presentation this design as Dining Tableware enjoys time and again particular popularity, even among people with very modern living standards.
